How to Choose

Use longpass filters when longer wavelengths should pass and shorter wavelengths should be blocked. Use shortpass filters for the reverse. Confirm the edge wavelength, transition slope, blocking range, AOI, and whether the filter will be paired with a bandpass filter.

Longpass & Shortpass Filters

OPTOStokes longpass and shortpass filters provide sharp edge transitions for wavelength separation in fluorescence microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and optical instrumentation. Longpass filters transmit wavelengths longer than the cut-on while blocking shorter wavelengths; shortpass filters do the reverse. They combine well with bandpass filters when precise spectral selectivity is required.
